with an experienced team.

What is the typical building process?

The build process varies from project to project.  However, for an overview of the general build process, please visit our Build Process page for further explanation.

How long does it take to build my custom home?

The time to complete your home project varies on a number of variables.  First, of course, is where you are in the build cycle.  Have you purchased a lot, do you have home plans, etc.?  Once the physical project is started, the timeline to completion will largely depend on the size and complexity of the house design.  Other factors include permitting, weather, etc.   For a larger, more complex, custom home, one should assume several months for completion.

What should I expect in my house plans?

Our house plans come with floor plans, elevations, floor framing, roof framing, electrical layout and other, as needed, pages depending on your project.  Each set of plans, once completed becomes your property so you can do with it as you like.  There are no copyright issues with Morgan Snidow Homes.  Further, all plans are completed in accordance with local building codes and the International Residential Code as adopted by the State of Texas.

What are the main cost drivers for a custom home?

Under the 'skin,' each home is essentially the same with framing of similar walls from similar materials.  The real cost drivers of the home construction process are the size of the home, the design of the home and the finish out of the home.  For example, coffered ceilings and vaulted ceilings are more expensive than flat ceilings.  The use of marble or rock tile for your Entry Way is more expensive than ceramic tile.  Each house is different from another.  We are here to help you through the design and build process and to help educate you so that you may make more informed decisions.
